Above the Law

Description

Crafting spirits can be as exciting as smuggling and quite as dangerous. They each require the delicate balance of daring, inspiration, and time. The shores of Mounts Bay provide the perfect conditions for both…

The Story

In the late eighteenth century, on the shores of Mounts Bay, smugglers John Carter, known as the King of Prussia, and his brothers set out to bring rum to the people of Cornwall.

With the protection of their two large gun vessels, the Phoenix and the Swallow, they spent the harsh Cornish winters travelling between northern France and their home in Prussia Cove.

Despite the dangerous waters and the might of the British Navy, they would return, their hold bursting with rum, and send it out with their crew to be enjoyed throughout the land.

--------

In the early twenty-first century, on the shores of Mounts Bay, distillers Jess Shelley and Paul Robbins set out to bring rum to the people of Cornwall.

With the warmth of their two stills, Jackson and Virginia, they spent the harsh Cornish winter testing spices, playing with combinations and balancing flavours.

Despite the brutal Cornish weather and the constant call of the local pub, they would create the perfect spiced rum and send it out with their crew to be enjoyed throughout the land.
